THE BENEFITS OF PUBLIC BUS FOR DANANG’S CITIZENS

It can be said, in the period 2016 to 2017, Da Nang has witnessed many positive changes in the field of public passenger transport. Up to now, the bus system of Danang includes 14 routes, including 6 adjacent bus routes (also known as the old bus route), 05 bus services, 01 TMF bus and 02 bus routes. calendar.

Despite some difficulties and shortcomings, the Da Nang bus has contributed to the construction of a high quality passenger transport system for the people, contributing to connecting different areas of the city, contributing to reducing Minor problems of the city.

I / CONTRIBUTION OF THE BUS TO DA NANG PEOPLE:

1 / Enhancing connectivity areas, enabling people to access public transport services to meet the need to move between areas within and outside the city:

Before the Danabus system was put into operation in December 2016, the city's public passenger transport system consisted of only six bus routes operating in the form of socialization, including: line 01 (Da Nang - Hoi An An, 02 (Kim Lien - Cho Han), Route 03 (Da Nang - Ai Nghia), Route 04 (Da Nang - Tam Ky), Route 06 (Da Nang - Phu Da) Paint).

These bus routes are mostly inter-provincial bus routes, which serve the purpose of moving between Quang Nam and Da Nang, yet do not provide suitable transport means for people wishing to move in the inner city.

The inter-provincial routes are quite long, ranging from 36km to 70km, with access only to certain routes such as Dien Bien Phu, Nguyen Luong Bang, Truong Chinh, Nguyen Huu Tho, National Highway 14B, Le Van Hien. . People in other areas often have to travel to fixed routes to get to the bus. Long distance, average from 30-45 minutes. The bus shelter system is underdeveloped and by 2016 there will be only 19 shelters for all six routes, which are not easy to access.

The Danabus operation has addressed these issues, not only providing public transport in the inner city of Danang, serving the diverse needs of the people but also contributing to the additional For adjacent bus routes, together create a more complete VTCC system.

Indeed, in just over a year from the end of 2016 to 2017 the number of routes increased from 06 to 14, more than double. Bus routes have access to densely populated areas (Table 1), spread over the city's main arcades such as Tran Cao Van, Le Duan, Ong Ich Khiem, Duy Tan, Nui Thanh, August, ... (Figure 1). Along with the new bus lines are high quality facilities, such as 02 bus stations built in Xuan Dieu and Pham Hung, 150 new waiting places are installed throughout the city. These synchronized steps have stirred up the Da Nang public transport market. Bus subsidies contributed to transporting 2.13 million passengers in the first year of operation, by 78 % compared to passenger traffic of adjacent bus routes in the year (2.73 million passengers). In the first half of 2018, the number of passengers of the subsidy lines continued to grow, reaching nearly 1.50 million, up 40% over the same period last year.

3 / Improve service quality of public transport system:

Ages ago long ago. Adjacent bus routes have long received a lot of feedback about the old bus system, pulling down the quality of service. As a result, the high-quality subsidized bus service has become the new breeze of the city, with facilities, a well-stocked garage and pavilion, and an entirely new staffing facility. Highly-professional trained. In addition, in order to ensure the quality of service during the service, the management center (Datramac center) regularly organizes field inspection and supervision and organizes classes. periodic training (Figure 2, 3).

3 / Reduce traveling and relating expenses

High quality of service will lead to maintenance cost as well as cost to the people. However, under the Danabus City People's Committee's subsidy policy, people are assured of the quality of services associated with the cost that is consistent with the average income of the people (Table 2).

4 / Contribute to minimize traffic jams:

Public buses have long been recognized as a way to solve urban environmental and transportation problems such as environmental pollution, noise pollution, traffic congestion, traffic accidents. Especially, with the growth rate of private means of transport in Da Nang city with the annual growth rate of 12% for automobiles and 8% for motorcycles, Urban demand can be seen as a key solution to these problems. Since December 2016, the average number of passengers per turn represents a steady increase every month, from 3.6 HK / Hit to 14.9 HK / Hit in 2017 and now reaches 15.5 HK per turn (according to Datramac's April 2018 Report). Passenger density is expected to increase further by the end of 2018 when 06 bus routes will be opened to improve the public system in Da Nang city.

II. SOME DIFFICULTIES AND PROBLEMS:

Alongside the benefits of subsidized bus service to city residents, the bus system is still in a lot of backlogs and difficult problems.

a / Limited coverage, only 05 routes and 01 TMF service to meet the daily needs of people. In other words, demand for relocation as well as access to some areas of Da Nang has not been resolved, reducing the connectivity and perfection of the system.

b / Encouraging the use of buses is the construction of new habits, going against the "motorcycle culture" that has been ingrained in the blood of the Danang people.

c / Changes in people's negative attitude towards Danang bus. Build a new image of the bus, high service quality, clean, airy, civilized, polite.

Many non-conscious individuals invade the waiting area as well as parking areas on bus stops, exacerbating many urban problems such as congestion, traffic accidents
